Finding great golf deals: eBay

One of the best locations online to find great golf deals is on eBay.  Most people have heard of eBay, and probably have either bought or sold something on the site.  eBay has become the largest online auction site, and is a place that has tons of golf equipment for sale.

I usually check out eBay frequently to look for what is being sold currently.  It is a great place to keep your eye out when looking to buy anything related to golf.  eBay has anything from drivers to woods to irons to wedges to putters and everything else that you can imagine for the game of golf.  Because eBay is the largest online marketplace, the prices are usually as close to market value as you will find.

Equipment on eBay

Drivers, Woods, Hybrids, Irons, Iron sets, Putters, Accessories, Training aids, Clothing, Golf Balls.

eBay Tips

  • Always check who the seller of the item.  Make sure that they have positive feedback.  Check the feedback listings that have been left, and make sure that they have sold something before and a most of the left feedback is all positive.
  • I like to ask the seller a question to see if they are responsive and helpful.  Although not necessarily a full proof way of testing the seller, it's still good to get a feeling for the seller.
  • Always pay with a Credit Card - Use Paypal, and make sure that all of the payment through paypal to the seller comes from your credit card.  This will help if the seller flakes out and you need to fight the charge.  By using the credit card, you can take advantage of their policies and get your money back much easier than any other form of payment.
  • Check for items that are misplaced in categories or have spelling mistakes.  Because some sellers misplace items in the wrong category, or spell the item wrong, the item will not show up in searches correctly.  Take advantage of these items, as the prices will be a lot lower due to less buying interest.
  • Be very CAREFUL of fake golf items.  There are a lot of fake clubs on eBay, and you must pay close attention.  Always look at the seller pictures carefully.  If a seller hasn't posted actual photos, ask to view actual photos of the item.  Look at the branding on the club to make sure it is not a knock off product from China.  If it is a knock off product, the name will be close to a major brand name, but spelled slightly different.
  • Always view actual photos of golf products.  If the seller hasn't posted enough photos or they are stock images, ask the seller to produce actual photos.
  • If something doesn't seem quite right about the transaction, follow your gut feeling and walk away.  eBay is a very large marketplace, and if something just doesn't feel right, wait for the next opportunity when the situation feels better.
