WGC Dell Technologies Match Play 2017

Dell Technologies Match Play Logo The Dell Technologies Match Play golf event is one month away and is again being hosted at the Austin Country Club in Austin, TX.  This is a World Golf Championship and hosts the top 64 golfers in the world rankings and the winner is determined by a bracket type tournament.  This is the second year that the tournament is being hosted in Austin, and again, I will be working as a marshal on Hole #8.  Last year was a great experience, and a great tournament.  Jason Day won the event, without even playing a practice round at the course since he won the week before and wanted to rest!  The big hitters bomb the ball off the tee and over power the course, however, the precise golfers can compete too.  Since the course can be tight at times, if the big hitters are not accurate, it will inflict penalty strokes.

Ray and WGC Trophy Here is a picture of myself with the WGC trophy before the event.  Tickets are already sold out for the tournament, which isn’t surprising since the ticket count is quite small compared to other tournaments.  The dates of the 2017 event are March 22-26th.  The first three days are round-robin style match play events, and the final 16 will play a single elimination match play bracket over the next two days.  It’s a very fund event to watch and work and I would hope anyone that lives or will be visiting the Austin area should attend.
